  • List: a resizable, growable collection (unlike a fixed-size array)
  • list.add(x) adds; list.size() returns the count
  • null: a reference pointing to "nothing"
  • Calling a method on null throws a NullPointerException
  • try/catch lets you handle code even if it would error and exit by design
